Power up Your Practice with Props

Sometimes your body is smarter than you are.
One of the most common misconceptions in yoga is that we only use props when we "can't do the pose" or want to "make it easier". Nothing could be farther from the truth!
Props are tools for safely building the strength and flexibility we need to try new poses or new variations of old, familiar poses. Using props in poses we've done a thousand times before, can also reveal something new that we've been missing out on.
In this workshop, we'll learn to use props–like blocks, a strap, or the wall–to find more power, stability, and breathing room in our practice. We'll explore anatomical concepts like muscle recruitment, closed- and open-chain movement, alignment, and how to maintain biochemical serenity while you practice.

Saturday, February 3 from 11am - 5:30pm (short lunch break)
and Sunday February 4 from 8am - 11am
Cost is $125 and 9 hours applicable to 500 Hour RYT
Kat's classes emphasize steadiness and strength with a focus on slow, flowing movement connected by breath. She also encourages students to explore using props to support their development of healthy awareness of their body as they practice. Kat has been teaching at Holy Cow Yoga Center for the last 13 years and teaches Anatomy for Holy Cow Yoga Center's 200-hour and Advanced Studies Programs.
