Meditation is a skill we develop over time in guiding the attention of the mind inward, becoming aware of not only the thoughts we think, but how those thoughts effect us.  We are delighted to bring together three experienced meditators in the Charleston area for a weekend.  Exploring and sharing the techniques and skills of meditation that can be effective in overcoming the challenges we face daily in our lives as well as developing the best versions of ourselves.  The weekend will be begin with a foundational overview of meditation, and then continue weaving experiential practice and inspiration from our illumined teachers.  


Cost is $150 until Nov 24th

Trace Sahaja Bonner is the Founder/Director of Holy Cow Yoga Center. She began her practice over 23 years ago, and is a certified advanced Integral Yoga Instructor (influenced by Sri Swami Satchidananda). Having studied in India and the U.S., Trace Sahaja continues to draw from a variety of great teachers in the west and enjoys sharing the practical concepts and teachings of yoga and meditation.

Geshe Dakpa Topgyal was born in the Western region of Tibet in 1962 and entered Drepung Loseling Monasteryi n India after the invasion, at the age of ten and received his Geshe Degree twenty-two years later. He has published three practice books on Samatha meditation and he teaches students year round at the Charleston Tibetan Society Dharma Center where he is also the resident teacher since 2001.  Besides his years of education and experience, Geshe-la brings to the teachings a kind heart and a sense of humor that is both disarming and endearing.

Dr. Lee Irwin, Professor of the Religious Studies Department at the College of Charleston. He has studied world religions intensively, with an emphasis on Native American religions, western esotericism, hermeticism, contemporary spirituality, and transpersonal religious experience — particularly around themes connected to dreams and visions. He is also the Vice President of the International Association for the Study of Esotericism, and gives frequent presentations at the SOPHIA INSTITUTE and at the Institute for Dream Studies. He has written 4 books, and is also an Associate Editor and a contributor to “Elixir: The Journal of Consciousness, Conscience, and Culture”.
