Our Modules were created to give the teacher or experienced student a deeper understanding of Yoga asanas, philosophical teachings, anatomy as it relates to more advanced asanas and other aspects of yoga. We offer 3 modules a year in rotation in sequential order, taught primarily by Trace Sahaja Bonner, E-RYT 500 and Kat Hendrix E-RYT 500. Those taking the modules as part of the Advanced Studies Program must complete each module or equivalent study. These programs do not need to be taken in any specific order.
The hours for the weekends are usually:
Saturday 11:00am - 5:00pm (one hour lunch break) and Sunday 8:00am - 1:00pm (short morning break).

Module 1: tba 2108
Samastitihi - This is a weekend of learning to stand. We will explore pada bandha, the consciousness of the feet, and includes standing asanas, their variations, alignment and structure and adjustments. As the body stands steady, we cultivate steadiness in the midst of the oscillations of the mind.

Opening the Heart - Backbends open our heart and allow us to experience our true passion. This weekend is about backbend asanas their variations, alignment and structure and adjustments. We will explore the sacrum as the root of our energy and how stabilizing it will allow us to open our heart with joy.

Module 3: tba 2018
Kriya: The Art of Forward Bending - Sometimes we need to spend time breaking down a specfic genre of poses. This weekend we examine forward bending postures, alignment and variations. We will also focus on physiology of the spine and the manipura chakra. These physical aspects along with the study of Kriya Yoga & Upanishads give us the ability to cleanse the mind and allow us to bow humbly to our turest self.

Module 4: March 25 - 26, 2017
Taking Flight: The Art of Arm Balances and Inversions - Mastering the winds of the body, give us the ability to master flight and experience lightness. This weekend we look at not only the vayus (winds) but also shoulder consciousness, inversions and arm balances. We will learn variations,counterposes, adjustments and alignment techniques.

Module 5: June 24 - 25, 2017
Gunas: Finding Balance - The world we live in is ruled by and dictated by the gunas (Prakriti). In order to find peace within the constant shifting we must learn to find balance and eventually rise above the duality of the world. This weekend we will explore the fundamental beginnings of Hatha as a cleansing practice for the body. We will also be looking at twisting asanas, their variations & learning sequencing of floors poses as well as foundational Ayurvedic principles, Prana and concepts of Gunas.

Module 6: October 14 - 15, 2017
Samadhi: Arising of Awareness - A word which represents an enlightened state of consciousness; an awareness of the Self. This Advanced Studies weekend is about learning how to teach from a place of awareness, which leads to inspiring classes. We will explore ideas and concepts of sequencing classes and putting together themes within our classes. We also practice hands-on adjustments and creating an environment for students and ourselves to reach deeper levels of body and soul.
