After learning about the physical benefits of the Yin Yoga practice in the Yin Yoga Teacher Training, Sonia dives deeper into the energetic, emotional and spiritual benefits of Yin practice. How can holding a static pose for a period of time clear out energy blockages through the body and stimulate organ health? We will explore the answer to this as well as delve into Chinese and Indian energy concepts and how they relate to Yin Yoga. Her interest in the energy forms and Yin have brought Sonia to study with the the most prominent Yin teachers Bernie Clark, Sarah Powers and Paulie Zink.

SONIA LENNARTZ was introduced to Yoga in 2000, and was immediately drawn to the emotional and physical healing properties of this practice. Her curiosity for the physical and energetic aspects of the body has led her to study with numerous teachers whose styles range from Ashtanga to Iyengar to Yin with instruction from Gabriel Halpern, Richard Freeman, Tim Feldman, Doug Keller, Jason Crandell, Bernie Clark, Paulie Zink, Sarah Powers, Gil Hadley and many others. Her light hearted approach to teaching stems from the notion that life is serious but yoga doesn’t have to be. She feels that our practice should not be rigid and dogmatic and that every body can practice some form of yoga. She loves to infuse her classes with different flows and poses while inspiring her students to find the practice that fits their individual needs. She achieved 500 hour certification in 2015.
